NATURE
and
MY
SOUL
Trudging
uphill,
unsteady
easy
gait,
The
familiar
path
rocky,
meandering.
Crashing
waves
beckon
me
onward,
My
heart
yearns,
my
soul
now
calming.
Hush
of
early
morning,
sun
shining
brightly,
Air
fresh,
crisp,
admits
morning
dew.
Birds
burst
forth
in
song,
I
breathe
deeply,
Nature
–
peaceful
–
beautiful
thru
and
thru.
Tiny
fragrant
flowers
growing
on
bare
rock,
The
pungent
odor
of
the
cedar
trees,
A
chipmunk
scurries,
chatters-
I
laugh,
His
territory
–
the
trespasser
is
me.
Why
is
my
soul
quenched
by
water
–
waves?
Crashing,
rolling,
rising,
vibrant
blue/green
The
very
depth
of
my
being,
coaxed,
drawn,
Mesmerized
by
white
caps
frequently
seen.
Relaxed
spectator
perched
on
the
jagged
cliff
I
drink
deeply
the
majestic
exquisite
swell.
My
mind
and
soul
serene,
filled,
at
peace,
For
God
is
near
---
and
all
is
well.
