THE REVELATION
written aprox. 96 A.D., to/for the 7 churches
1)
1: The Revelation (=unveiling, Gr. apokalupsis, from where or "Apocalypse" comes from) of Jesus Christ (Jehoshua Messiah=Jehovah's Savior The Anointed One), which God gave to Him, to point out to His servants things which are necessary with speed to come to pass (see Dan.2:29 [Sept.]; and He having sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,
2: Who bare witness of the Word of God (thus a direct prophetic communication, as 1 Sam.9:27. 1 Kings 12:22. 1 Chron.17:3. Yet cp. v.9; 6:9; 19:13; 20:4), and of the witness of Jesus Christ, and of whatsoever things that he saw (hears and understood, not merely "heard" but saw in vision).
3: Happy is he that reads, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it: for the time is at hand.
4: John to the seven churches (7 =Spiritual perfection, completeness in Biblical numerics) which are in Asia: Grace be to you, and peace, from Him Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come; and from the seven Spirits (see 5:12) which are before His throne;
5: And from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful Witness, and the First Begotten of the dead (=hoi nekroi, which denotes dead bodies, or corpses or carcasses in the grave, apart from the personality they once had. O.T. idiom also), and the Ruler of kings of the earth (earth=ethnos, all the ethnic peoples). To Him that loved us, and loosed us from our sins by His own blood (see Heb.2:14),
6: And has made us to be a kingdom and to be priests to God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Even the Amen (see 3:14).
7: Behold, He comes (as He left) with the clouds; and every eye shall see Him (at the 7th trump), and they also which pierced Him: and all tribes of the earth shall wail because of Him (Why? because most will have been deceived by the antiChrist = Satan himself defacto). Yes, even the Amen.
8: I am The Alpha and Omega (=1-8. #1 denotes unity, commencement. #8 denotes new beginnings in biblical numerics), says the LORD, Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come, The Almighty.
9: I John, your brother, and partaker in tribulation, and kingdom and patience of Jesus, was in the isle that is called Patmos (an island [modern Patino] in the AEgean, about 30 miles S.W. of Samos), the Word of God and for the testimony of Jesus (nothing to indicate John had been "banished").
10: I was in the Spirit in the Lord's day (John taken to the 1,000 year or last day [see 2 Pet.3:8] of this dispensation. Not Sunday. Don't get this confused with the secular 1,000 years, i.e. Y2K), and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet (in O.T. connected with war and the day of the Lord. See Zeph.1:14-16.),
11: Saying, I am The Alpha and Omega, the first and
the last: and what you see, write in this book (=scroll), and send it to the seven churches; to Ephesus, and to Smyna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.
12: And I turned to see the voice (the Speaker) that was speaking with me. And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands (see v.20);
13: And in the midst of the seven lampstands one like to the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the breasts with a golden girdle.
14: And His head and His hair were white as wool, as
white as snow; and is eyes were as a flame of fire (= The Shikinah glory);
15: And His feet like fine brass, as glowing in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters (=people, see 17:15).
16: And He having in His right hand seven stars: and out
of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword (= His tongue = the Truth): and His countenance was as the sun shines in his strength.
17: And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as one dead.
And He laid His right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; I am the First and the Last:
18: And the Living One, and yet became dead; and behold, Living am I for evermore; and have the keys of death and hell (=the grave).
19: Therefore write the things which you saw (as in v.2), and what they are (i.e. what they signify), and the things which shall be hereafter (Lit. after these things, i.e. the signs in the latter days. Not in John's day, but in the last generation, the generation of the fig tree, us. Began in 1948 when Israel became a nation again);
20: The secret symbol of the seven stars which you saw in
My right hand (= the hand of His power), and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars represent (or signify) the angels of the seven churches: and
the seven lampstands which you saw represent the seven
churches. (No great mystery right? Yet people try to make a religion out of it!)

2)
1: To the angel of the church of Ephesus (Ephesus translated means permitted) write; These things says He That holds the seven stars in His right hand, Who walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks (= churches).
(Compare this church to
the 10 virgins, i.e. the 5 that were short of God's Word. Misled by the so-called "rapture" theory.)
2: I know your works, and your labor and your patience, and how you cannot bear them which are evil, and you have tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars:
3: And have born, and have patience, and for My name's sake have labored, and have not fainted.
4: Nevertheless I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love (The Father & Christ).
5: Remember therefore where you are fallen, and repent, and do the first works (learning & studying); or else I will come quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you repent.
6: But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitanes (Baal worship), which I hate.
7: He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life (=Christ, the first love), which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.
8: And to the angel of the church in Smyrna (Smryrna translated means strengthened
perfume) write; These things says the First and the Last, Which was dead (crucified), and is alive (Eternal life);
9: I know your works, and tribulation, and poverty
{but you are rich}(have peace of mind), and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan (=Kenites=the sons of Cain. Ioudos has two meanings in the Greek; I=offspring of Judah, II=resident of the land of Judea. Always use the meaning which is relevant to the context. See also 3:7-10. These two churches that
taught this were the ONLY two churches Christ found no fault with. Does your church teach this? ).
10: Fear none of those things which you shall suffer:
behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you all may be tried; and you all shall have tribulation(no big deal with Christ on your side) ten days (see Mark 13:9-11): be you faithful until death (the devil, Satan is death), and I will give you a crown of life.
11: He that has an ear to hear, let him hear what the
Spirit says to the churches; He that overcomes shall not be hurt of the second death.
12: And to the angel of the church in Pergamos (Theosata claims to be Messiah fortress) write; These things says He Which has the sharp sword with two edges;
13: I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan's seat is: and you hold fast My name, and have not denied My faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was slain among you (this hasn't happened yet. Antipas translated means anti-father, he will turn to Christ but Satan
will never turn to Christ), where Satan dwells.
14: But I have a few things against you, because you
have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam
(taught people for money, riches. Don't be a beggar), who taught to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.
15: So have you also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
16: Repent; or else I will come to you quickly, and I
will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
17: He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
says to the churches. To him that overcomes will I
give to eat of the hidden manna (=God's Truth), and will give him a
white stone (= to count, to understand the Word of God.), and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it. (God's elect. See also Zech.4:9)
18: And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write;
These things says the Son of God, Who has His eyes
like a flame of fire, and His feet are like fine brass;
19: I know your works, and charity, and service, and
faith, and your patience, and your works; and the last to be more than the first.
20: Notwithstanding, I have a few things against you,
because you suffer that woman Jezebel (See 1 Kings 16:30-34; 21:25. This patroness of Baal-worship will have her sinister anti-type in the future. Here it is used in irony. Jezebel being translated means chaste.) which calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce My servants to commit fornication (=idolatry), and to eat things sacrificed to idols. (They listen to
her and not to God's word)
21: And I gave her space to repent of her fornication
(= idolatry); and she repented not.
22: Behold, I will cast her into a bed (with the false Christ), and them that commit adultery (= idolatry. The great apostasy) with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deed.
23: And I will kill her children with death (= spiritual death); and all the churches shall know that I am He Which searches the reins and hearts (inside of minds): and I will give to every one of you according to your works (good and bad).
24: But to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as
many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan ("religion" of Thyatira), as they speak; I will put
upon you no other burden.
25: But that which you all have already, hold fast
till I come.
26: And he that overcomes, and keeps My works to the
end, to him will I give power over the
nations:
27: And he shall rule (Lit. "shepherd") them
with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: (quoted from Ps.2:8,9) even as I received of My Father.
28: And I will give him the morning star (early light, truth).
29: He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
says to the churches.
3)
1: And to the angel of the church in Sardis write; 'These things says He That has the seven Spirits of God (see 5:12), and seven
stars; I know your works, that you have a name that you live, and are dead.
2: Be watchful (this is a warning), and strengthen the things which
remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found your works perfect before God.
3: Remember therefore how you have received and heard (with understanding), and hold fast, and repent. If therefore you shall not watch, I will come as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I will come to you.
4: You have a few names in Sardis which have not defiled their garments (= righteous acts); and they shall walk with Me in white: for they are worthy.
5: He that overcomes,the same shall be clothed in white clothng; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.
6: He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
says to the churches.
7: And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia
(=brotherly love)
write; These things says He That is Holy, He That is
True, He That has the key of David (to know the truth of Scripture, Spiritual discernment, know order of events), He That opens, and no man shuts, and shuts, and no man opens;
8: I know your works: behold, I have set before you
an open door, and no man can shut it: for you have a
little strength, and have kept My Word, and have not
denied My name (staying with the true
Christ).
9: Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan (see 2:9, John ch.8, Matt.13:32.), which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved
you.
10: Because you have kept the word of My patience, I
also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which
shall come upon all the world (no "rapture"), to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11: Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which you
have, that no man take your crown.
12: Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the Temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem (= renewed, not new, see Isaiah 62:4.), which
comes down out of heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name.
13: He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
14: And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans (translated means foolish) write; 'These things says the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15: I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot (those who are afraid to learn or like to stay away from controversy): I would rather you were cold or hot.
16: So then because you are luke-warm, and neither
cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth (you suffer loss).
17: Because you say, I am rich, and increased with
goods (of this world age), and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind,
and naked (Spiritually speaking, Biblically illiterate):
18: I council you to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white clothing, that you may be clothed (see 19:8), and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye salve (a poultice, only occ.), that you may see.
19: As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous (towards Christ) therefore, and repent.
20: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: If any
man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in
to him, and will sup (= spiritual food) with him, and he with Me.
21: To him that overcomes will I grant to sit down with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.
22: He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
says to the churches.
