19)

1: After these things (i.e. after great fall, Satan getting booted out of heaven) I heard as it were a great voice of many people in heaven, saying,

“Alleluia (see Ps.104:35); the Salvation, and the glory, and the power, of our God:

2: For true and righteous are His judgments: for He judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornications (=Idolatry & confusion), and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand” (at her hand = self destruction)
3: And again they have said, “Alleluia.”

And her smoke goes up for ever and ever. (which means ascends into nothingness. Gone! see Ps.37.)

4: And the four and twenty elders (see 4:4) and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God the One sitting on the Throne , saying, “Amen, Alleluia” (= "That's that [or that's the way it is], Praise Yah", see 22:21)

5: And a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you all His servants, all you that revere (or love) Him, small and great.”

6: And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters (= great multitude of people, see 17:15), and as the voice of mighty thunderings (which means it has already happened), saying,

“Alleluia: for the Lord our God The Omnipotent reigns.
7: Let us be glad and be exceedingly glad, and give the glory to Him:

for the marriage-feast of the Lamb is come, and His wife (=the elect) has made herself ready.”

8: And to her was granted in order that she should be arrayed in fine linen (the wedding garment), bright and pure: for the fine linen is the righteous acts (innocent, not guilty) of the saints.
9: And he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are they which are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” (RSVP. See Ps.45:15 for some of the "called" there indicated)

And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” (see Prov.8:20-24)
10: And I fell before his feet to worship him.

And he says to me, “See that you do it not: I am your fellowservant, and with your brethren that hold the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (This testimony may be as concerning Jesus, or as sent or borne by Him, as in 1:1)

11: And I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse (contrast that and its rider of 6:2); and He that sat thereon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and make war. (The prophecy in Zech.9:9 as to the Lord entering Jerusalem riding on an ass was fulfilled literally [Matt.21:4-1]; why then stumble, as do some, at the prediction here of "this same Jesus" riding on a "white horse"? Zech.9:9,10 takes in both comings. See also Ps.45)
12: And His eyes are a flame of fire, and thereon His head are many crowns (=diadems i.e. all melted into one); and He has a name written, that no one knew, if not He Himself.
13: And He was clothed with a vesture stained with blood: and His name is The Word of God. (John 1:1. Which is the seal of God. Do you have it IN your forehead?)
14: And the armies which are in heaven followed Him on white horses, clothed in fine linen, bright and pure.
15: And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword (=the Truth), in order that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall shepherd them with a scepter of iron: and He treads the winepress of the fierceness of the Almighty God. (this verse contains references to Ps.2:9. Isa. 11:4; 49:2; 63:3.)
16: And He has upon His vesture and upon His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (here at length we have the final fulfillment of Ps.2)

E7 19:17-20:15. The Seventh (and last) Vision "On Earth."

(Alternation and Introversion [Chiasmo])
E7  A¹  19:17-21. Men. The judgment of the beast and
                   the false prophet.
B¹  20:1-3. Satan. The judgment of Satan (before
                  the millennium).
A²  20:4-6. Men. The judgment of the overcomers.
The "rest of the dead" left for
                 judgment.
B²  20:7-10. Satan. The judgment of Satan (after
                   the millennium).
A³  20:11-15. Men. The judgment of the great
                      white throne.

 17: And I saw one angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls of that fly in mid-heaven, “Come and be gathered together to the great supper of God;
18: That you all may eat flesh of kings, and flesh of captains, and flesh of mighty, and flesh of horses, and of them that sit upon them, and flesh of all, free and bond, both small and great.” (We are not in the flesh body at this time [who needs them?]. We are in our spiritual bodies. Cp. Ezek.39:17-22 concerning this, or a subsequent, period. The invitation of "beasts" to the feast in Ezek. not mentioned here. See also Dan.11)
19: And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make the war with Him Who sits upon the horse, and with His army.
20: And the beast was arrested, and with him the false prophet (= the little horn = Satan) that did the signs before him (beast...him...him = the one world system), with which he deceived them that received the mark of the beast (=lies that you allow to be put in your mind), and them that worshiped his image. These both (= both political & religious systems) were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone (i.e. the systems, not the people).
21: And the rest were slain with the sword (=the Truth) of Him Who sits on the horse, which sword comes forth out of His mouth (CHRIST SPEAKS!): and all the fowl were filled with there flesh. (see v. 18)

20)

1: And I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit (can also mean a Fig. of speech = depredation) and a great chain upon his hand.
2: And he layed hold of the dragon (see 12:3), the old serpent (i.e. from Genesis), which is the Devil, and the Satan, and bound him a thousand years, (i.e. the millennium, Day of the LORD)
3: And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up (or "it" [the pit]), and sealed it over him, in order that he should not deceive the nations no longer, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: after that he must be loosed a little time. (because during the millennium the people who didn't overcome are taught, then Satan is released and they are tested for the final time. Satan is literal; the angel who binds is literal; the abyss into which he is cast is literal; and the chain, whatever it may be composed of, is literal to.)

4: And I saw thrones, and they that sat upon them (i.e. the Father and Christ [3:21], and the heavenly beings associated with them as ancestors [1:4; and cp. Matt.25:31. 1 Tim.5:21.]), and judgment was given (i.e. not judging or ruling authority, but sentence, or pronouncement, or reward in their favor) for them (i.e. those who had been beheaded, John, James, Peter &c.); even the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the Word of God, and whosoever did not worship the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark in their foreheads (where your brain is), or in their hands (Fig., = did not partake in Satan's work); and they lived again and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (This is you, the elect [IF you have eyes to see and ears to hear], these partake in the first resurrection. They have control with Christ during the millennium. Will you be a part of this?)
5: The rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years should be fulfilled (these are spiritually dead not physically dead. They cannot live again until Satan is released. See v. 3. See also 1 Cor.15:50-58). This is the first resurrection.
6: Blessed and holy is the one that has part in the first resurrection: over such the second death (=death of the soul) has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him the thousand years. (See Ezek.44:23-25)

7: And when the thousand years are fulfilled, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison.
8: And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corner of the earth, Gog and Magog (i.e testing all those outside the Millennial Temple), to gather them together to the war: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. (So you see a great many people were and are deceived by Satan)
9: And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city (i.e. Jerusalem): and fire came down from God out of heaven, and destroyed them (see Heb.12:29).
10: And the devil that deceived them was cast down into the lake of fire and brimstone (see 19:20), where also the beast and the false prophet were cast, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (see Ezek. 28:18,19. They will no longer exist)

11: And I saw a great white throne (that in 4:2-6 was seen by John in heaven; this one is on the earth. White indicating holiness and righteousness. No adjuncts mentioned. Only one Throne and one Judge), and Him that was sitting on it, from Whose face the earth and heaven fled away; and there was no place found for them. (i.e. end of the 2nd heaven and earth age. Full God-head comes down to earth on last day of the Millennium)
12: And I saw the dead (i.e. spiritually dead, not physically), the small and the great, standing before the Throne; and books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the the things which were written in the books, according to their works. (i.e. evil works not repented of)
13: And the sea (=peoples, see 17:15) gave up the dead (spiritually dead) which were in it; and death (=Satan) and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged each one according to their work.
14: And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death the lake of fire. (The DEATH OF THE SOUL!)
15: And if any one was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

B 21:1-22:5. The People On The New Earth.

(Introversion [Chiasmo])
B  A  21:1,2. Visions (heaven and earth, &c.)
       B | 21:3-8. Voices.
     A | 21:9-22:5. Visions (the bride).

21)

(Here we start the beginning of eternal [or 3rd] earth age.)

1: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth (=regeneration. A new earth age, not a new earth. See Isa. 51:16; 65:17; 66:22. 2 Pet.3:7,13. Matt.9:17): for the former heaven age and the former earth age were passed away; and the sea is no more. (here literal sea. A proof that this belongs to the post-millennial period. See Ps.72:8. Zech.9:10.)
2: And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem (see 3:12. The city "above" [Gal.4:26]; "which has the foundations" [Heb.11:10]; "the heavenly Jerusalem" [Heb.12:22]), coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3: And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will tabernacle with them (God comes down here to earth. Cp. Ex.29:46, &c., for God's promise to dwell among His People in the Land. For the promise to dwell among His People, restored Israel, in the millennial Land, see Zech.2:10,11; 8:3, &c. Here we have the final and glorious fulfillment of the promise in Isa.7:14 and Matt.1:23- IMMANUEL, God with us.), and they shall be His Peoples (whereas it was People, Israel, it is now Peoples, called the "nations" in v.24), and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any pain; for the former things (i.e. lake of fire, villains &c,. See Isa.25:7,8; 35:10. Jer.31:16) are passed away.”
5: And He that sits upon the Throne said, “Behold, I will make all things new” (= a renewal). And He says, “Write (the Word of God): for these words are faithful and true.”  6: And He said to me, “They (i.e the words) are come to pass, I am the Alpha and the Omega (see 1:8), the Beginning and the End. I will give to him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely (=CHRIST. For another use of the word "freely", see John 15:25)
7: He that overcomes shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son. (NO GENDER INTENDED)
8: But the fearful (see Matt.8:26 & Mark 4:40), and unbelieving (see Matt.17:17), and the abominable (see Rom.2:22), and murderers, and whoremonger, and sorcerers (see 22:15. Those who have commerce with evil spirits, as modern "Spiritualists"), and idolaters, and all the false, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death” (see Ps.37. removed and done away with, turned to ashes from within, turned into nothingness forever, they won't exist any more)

9: And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues (see 15:1), and talked with me saying, “Come to this place, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife.” (see Matt.10:35. Luke 12:53. John 3:29. Rev. 18:23; 22:17. The "wife" and the "bride" here must not be confused with the "wife" of 19:7. The wife of 19:7 is Israel, called out from all the nations for blessing in the Land, the earthy consort of "the great King" [cp. Ps.45. Jer.3:14]. The "bride, the Lamb's wife" here is still of Israel, but that Israel of the "heavenly calling" [Heb.3:1]; all those connected with the "heavenly" country and "the city which has the foundations", for which "they looked" [Heb.11:13-16])
10: And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain (= nation, see 17:9), and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.
 11: Having the glory of God: her light was like a stone most precious, even like jasper stone, clear as crystal (= purity);
12: Having a wall great and high, and having twelve gates (cp. Ezek.48:31-34. both John and Ezekiel wrote as they wre moved by the Holy Spirit, and their specific descriptions refer to different cities), and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel:
13: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14: And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. (Don't count Judas out. He did repent and was forgiven)
15: And he that talked with me had a golden reed for a measure, in order that he might measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16: And the city lies foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs (=1500 miles). The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. (The "holy city" is presented to us in a perfect cube of 12,000 furlongs. In Salomon's Temple "the Holy of Hollies" was a perfect cube of twenty cubits. 20 in Biblical numerics = redemption.)
17: And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty-four cubits (=about 300 feet. See Ezek. 43:13), the measure of a man, that is, an angel.
18: And the material of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like clear class. (= it was pure and perfect)
 19: The foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper (cp. this and the other stones here with those in Aaron's breastplate-Ex.28:17-21); the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20: The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21: And the twelve gates were pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22: And I saw no Temple in it: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the Temple of it. (God was there. This shows clearly that the wonders and glories revealed here belong to post-millennial times and ages. Therefore, the city of the great King during the thousand years, with "the sanctuary" of Ezek. 45:2, et al., and it's palace temple, will have "passed away". There cannot be two Jerusalem's on the earth at one and the same time. The new Jerusalem comes down on the new [renewed] earth, thus taking the place of the former city.)
23: And the city has no need of the sun, neither the moon, in order to shine on her: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24: And the nations (= ethnic peoples) shall walk in the light of her (i.e. Jerusalem): and the kings of the earth (= the foreign leaders and rulers, non-Israelite. See Isa.60:1-3) bring their glory to it. (i.e. the house of God)
25: And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. (see Isa.60:19-22)
26: And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.
27: And there shall be in no wise enter into it anything unclean, or he that works or makes a lying abomination (i.e. an idol), and makes a lie: only they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. (see 13:8)

22)

(In paradise)

1: And he showed me a river of living water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. (The the Throne of the great Priest-King [Zech.6:13] of the "thousand years" now gives place to the glorious "throne of God and of the Lamb", for God now is "all in all". Contrast Ezek.47:1-11, where the river proceeds from the "house" associated with the altar; here from the throne.)
2: In he midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, bearing twelve manner of fruits, yielding her fruit every month: and the leaves of the trees were for the healing of the nations. (Heals boredom also?. See Ezek.47:12)
3: And there shall no longer be any accursed thing: and the throne of God and of His Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him.
4: And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads.
5: And there shall be no night any longer; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light (i.e. the Shekinah glory): and they shall reign for ever and ever. (cp. the reign of the saints with Messiah for 1,000 years and the reign here with God "for ever and ever".)

6: And he (i.e. the angel of 1:1) said to me, “These words are faithful and true (you can count on it): and the Lord the God of the spirits of the prophets sent His angel (=His Spirit) to show to His servants the things which must shortly be done.
7: And behold, I come quickly (the words of the angels pass into the words of Christ; see vv.12,20; 3:11. Cp 1:7 and v.16 below): blessed is the one that keeps the sayings of the prophecy of this book” (and ALL of the Bible. See John 17:6)

(John taken back to 95 A.D.)

8: And I John am he that heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things.
9: And said he to me, “See that you do it not (cp. 19:10): I am your fellowservant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.” (DO NOT WORSHIP ANGELS)
10: And he said to me, “Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book; for the time is at hand. (see 1:3)
11: He that is unrighteous, let him act righteously: and he which is morally defiled, let him be morally defiled: and he that works righteousness, let him work righteousness: and he that is holy, let him be holy. (you can't change people)
12: Behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give everyone as his work is. (no gender intended)
13: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.
14: Blessed are they do His commandments (the text reads "wash their robes"), in order that they may have the right over the trees of life (see v.2), and may enter by the gates into the city.
15: Outside are dogs (the word "dog" appears in Phoenician remains, as applied to a class of servants attached to a temple of Ashtoreth in Cyprus), and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves (i.e. the lie) and makes a lie."
16: “I, Jesus sent My angel (in His hand) to testify (i.e. = to teach) to you these things in the churches (The "assemblies" of chapters 2 & 3 specifically, during the fulfillment of "the prophecy of this book"), I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright and the morning Star.” (Lucifer, the fake morning star, uses this title to deceive many)
17: And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. The one willing will, let him take the water of life freely.
18: I testify to every one that hears the words of the prophecy of this book (i.e. hear with understanding), “If any one shall add to them, God shall add to him the plagues (i.e. deception) that are written in this book:
19: And if anyone shall take away from the words of this book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.”
20: He Which testifies these things says, "Surely I come quickly." (The seventh and last solemn warning by the LORD Himself. It is the one great subject of the whole book, which is all prophecy. Amen. See 3:14 and 2 Cor.1:20) Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. (The use of the word "Lord" shows the utterance to be John's. None of His People, when He was on earth, were never so irreverent as to address Him as "Jesus" [see appendix 98 section 10 in the Companion Bible to see an explanation of this])
21: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with all the saints. Amen. (= THAT'S THE WAY IT IS)
