Ryan Charged by North Tipp

Newtown Celtic defender Dereck Ryan has been charged with misconduct by the North Tipp FA.

The Newtown player endured a torrid time against Arra Rovers in Newtown's game in Portroe earlier in the season as he was given a hostile reception due to his previous affiliation with Arra, the fact that he lives there and play's for local rivals Newtown.

Clearly overwhelmed by the occasion, Ryan's display even attracted criticism from his own team-mates and he spurned the one or two good opportunity's Newtown had created to seal the win.

When leaving the field the exciting defender brought his finger to his lips in an attempt to silence the abuse but was then seeing making an obscene gesture towards the home support.

A suspension looks likely to follow, meaning Ryan may miss a game later in the season. Newtown are believed to be getting ready to appeal the decision.
