1/32 F-5E Aggressor
This is my RevellAG/Hasegawa 'Shark Nose' F-5E done up in the VFC-13 Aggressor Squadron colors. I used the Black Box resin cockpit and the Two Bobs decals (now OOP). This kit was a battle from the start. I closed up the port gun bay (which the kit would like you to leave open to disply the 20mm cannon) and a LOT of filler was needed to maintain the mold line of the nose. The main theme with this model was fill, sand, fill some, sand again, repeat as needed. The resin tub is a beauty but requires a bit of grinding to get it to fit. It's worth it though because it's a tremendous improvement over the kit's offering. This is one of Hasegawa's early 70's releases (re-popped by RevellAG) and definitely lives up to its heritage and reputation for Hasegawa kits of that era.

The ACMI pod was scratch built using one of the AIM-9 missiles from the kit, the kit's pitot tube and some music wire. Painting took a little longer due to all the masking required for the tiger/lizard stripes. I initially gave a pre-shade for the panel lines then base coated with dark ghost grey. Tamiya masking tape was then applied and the blue was sprayed. The effort was worth it as you can see. The metal areas around the tail were done with MM metalizers and Alclad II.
