The He-111 was the Luftwaffe's workhorse bomber during WWII. It saw service on every front starting in the Spanish Civil War. This kit was originally issued by dragon/DML. The fit is so-so and a bit of putty is required. However it's the only He-111 available in 1/48th scale. You have the option of building it with a standard bomb bay configuration or two 500Kg blockbuster bombs or in the case of my choice two torpedos. I built the kit straight OOB with no extras. The cockpit is rather detailed. I did use Black Magic masks for the clear glazing. And there are a lot of panes to mask! The effort is well worth it though and the result can be seen. This particular Heinkel was based out of Sicily during the Mediterranean theatre of the war primarily against British convoys.
