The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.....

When an animal dies, one who has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends where they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content except for one thing: each misses someone who was very special to them, someone they had to leave behind.

They all run and play together, but a day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The eyes are bright and intent; the eager little body quivers all over! Suddenly that lucky one breaks away from the group and flies over the green grass, little legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in a joyous reunion, never be parted again. Happy kisses rain on your face; your hands again caress that beloved head and once more you look into the trusting eyes of your pet-so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

This page is lovingly dedicated to the memory of Annie

Annie was an angora black and white mix cat. I was in elementary school when I talked my parents into letting me have a cat. I remember going to a ladies house, she had two litters there but as soon as I walked into where the kitties were I knew which one I wanted.I loved Annie with all my heart, she was always there for me (and I hope I was for her). I don't think I would of made it through those teenage years without her.

Well, four years ago, a very tough decision had to be made. Annie was almost completely blind and she could hardly walk due to serve arthritis. Her vet said she was in alot of pain and we should think about euthanizing her. It was probably the hardest thing I've ever done, but she was suffering so much. At the age of twenty one, Annie went to the Rainbow Bridge. I think about her still and I am sure she is waiting for me there. You are gone but not forgotten Annie - I love you!
