The city of Biloxi, Mississippi became a city in 1699
making it the second oldest city in southern U.S.
Most of the gulf (south) side of Biloxi is lined with
a wide sand beach. Along this strand are many old
southern mansions and the recent addition of modern
hotels and casinos. This area is probably the best
place to spend leisure time outside of New Orleans.
