Tom Powers, otherwise known as "Powers of the Press," is the "ace reporter of the Free Press" newspaper.  He

has been an outstanding character in newspaper circles around the city of Jimtown. He believes staunchly in the freedom of the press, and has proven to be fearless, dauntless, and courageous in carrying out his assignments.
(Forgive the lengthy quote, but it's not often that the comic summarizes a character like that, and I thought I'd take advantage of it.) Powers works for "Cupid Cueball" (no, really) (stop--I'm not making this up, you know) better known as "Kewpi." He
tries to live down his nickname by posing as a hard-hearted city editor, but actually he is kind and friendly under his stern exterior.
Powers' sidekick is "Candid Kenny Roberts," who
since he was old enough to click a brownie camera or mix a batch of "hypo" has laways been able to get to the scene of an accident, get a better shot of the victims and see that it made the next edition faster than anyone else. Teamed up with Tom Powers he has done much to make their nickname the "Gruesome Twosome" a fact!
Well. With a cast like that, it's hard to go wrong, and they don't, cracking a crime ring in almost no time.
