Firearms season is now over and we had a great season. You may notice that we took far fewer deer this year but the ones taken were all mature quality animals. We vowed at the beginning of season to let the young bucks walk and next year and the following years we will have a quality heard to hunt. The Quality Management of the deer heard we feel is necessary.
I did not think I would be able to let deer walk past my stand and not attempt to harvest them but it really feels good to say that it happend dozens of times this year. If I am not able to take another buck or doe with my bow or a doe during pistol season, the season will still be successful. The next time you go out in the woods-good luck and happy hunting! |
