Santa Claus on Christmas Eve

I think it is a little bit early for an 8-year-old child to realize that Santa actually doesn't exist and the ones who give children presents on Christmas are their parents. I was shocked when I realized the fact 10 years ago. Since then, I thought believing in Santa Claus is very ridiculous. However, one incident has totally changed my mind.

On the evening of the last years Christmas Eve, I was walking down the street to buy some presents for my family. Heavy snow was falling down to the ground, making for freezing weather. Then, I saw a man sitting down in the middle of the street begging for money. His white long-hair, unshaved-mustach, and his old-jacket made him look like a typical beggar. He seemed cold. I stopped and thought for a minute whether I should give some money to him or not. Then, suddenly there was a little girl, standing a few feet from me who was looking for her mom. Nobody helped that girl. At that moment, the beggar stood up and approached the girl. Then he took off his jacket and gave it to the girl. He kindly calmed the girl down, and helped her look for her parents. I watched them with interest. They wondered for 5 minutes and finally found the girl's parents. The parents thanked the beggar a lot and offered him some money. But he rejected it for some reason. I saw the real 'Santa' that day.
