On a more positive note...
On Sunday, I was watching this documentary on Dutch local television which starred 26-year old Dutch lady Nynke Nauta who had worked with the needy for some years there. I was truly impressed, even moved, by the way she taught the locals to make money and to change their mindsets. She also set up a project to help Kenyan rappers compile a cd together with European artists, which you can buy here to support them.
At the same time, Bob Geldof has taken the action to make a new
Band Aid single to raise funds and awareness for the Sudan-province Darfur.

And the story continues, Jihad online
Whilst Dutch artist Chris Ripke was arrested for painting the words "Thou shalt not kill" on a wall opposite a mosque, it is still allowed to have terrorist websites that promote violence. Watch Jihad videos here, read Jihad letters and see Jihad photos. Similar sites can be found abroad, where Chechen terrorist website Kavkazcenter is back online and Shaykh Abu Hamza's Shareeah is also still online. Funnily enough, most of the world's terrorist websites are registered at American ISPs.

Send me money or I will kill my hamster
Sounds to me like a pretty sick thought. But believe it or not, some yankee came up with this great idea and started a site called "Save Vincent" after he killed his last hamster and posted the story on his website, including pictures. I cannot believe that there is really no one in the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, who can make this sick bloke stop his crimes.

AIVD infiltrator had shady travel agency online
Outman Ben Amar, who infiltrated the Dutch intelligence and security service AIVD earlier this year and passed important information on to terrorism suspects, had a shady travel agency online: chafarinastours.com. This travel agency can't have been very succesful, considering that the site got only a couple of hundreds of visitors per year, which is a lot less than Joey's Joint. Although the travel agency's website is down, Joey found the following website with almost a similar name. This makes one wonder what the following is referring to: "We offer 7 ,10 , 12 and 15 day trips. All equipment is provided. No special skills needed." Feel free to have a look in their guestbook, where you can read something about 'recrutement chez les marocains'.

Warner Bros planned to kill MP Hirsi Ali
After Dutch police raided a house in The Hague and were attacked with a booby-trap and a hand granade, it took almost an entire day to arrest the terrorism suspects. The two suspects, 19-year old Jason Warner and his big fat friend were said to planning the murder of MP Hirsi Ali and MP Geert Wilders. Jason Warner's little brother, Jermaine Warner, was arrested the same day for similar reasons. The brothers, born out of an American father and a Dutch mother, became Muslims five years ago. Jason Warner wrote a farewell letter to his beloved mother, which you can read here (if you understand Dutch).

Brabant, Netherlands. A source of terrorism
Today a training camp for Kurds has been entered and 29 have been arrested. Reports state that predominantly youth were educated on among others, how to make bombs. The militants were to be sent to Armenia to fight for the Kurdish people. The Liempde mayor stated that he had no idea this was going on at the village camping. Sources say that President of the United States of America, the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, George W. Bush, is considering adding Brabant to the Axis of Evil.

Georgina Verbaan: real or fake?
Ok, ok. Only because it was requested: the pictures of Dutch actress Georgina Verbaan. Now you judge whether she's real or not, based on how she looked some years ago. In reply to critics saying that she had a boob-job, she replied that her boobs had grown because she gained some kilo's and because she is on the pill now.

Long live the internet
It must be said, the internet is a great source of information and has made life a lot easier for many of us. But it is a well-known fact that the web is, among others, a great way to meet new terrorist friends and to learn whether it is legal to kill someone who offended the Prophet. I quote: "Salam, I have a question which has been on my mind for some time, should those that insult the Prophet be killed like for instance Hirsi Ali and Theo van Gogh or other 'Muslims'? I would like a reply and of course with evidence".
And the reply goes: "It is mandatory to kill those who insult the Prophet  (sallalahu `aleihi wasalam) whether he is a Muslim or a Kaafir. And Hirsi Ali and Theo van Gogh , these swines that insulted the Prophet (salallahu `aleihi wasalam) their punishment is death and their day will come inshallah!"
This was posted on the Dutch MSN-website Jama'at Tawheed Wal Jihad less than one month before the killing of Theo van Gogh by Mohammed Bouyeri. According to the book As-Sarim Al-Masloel `laa Shatmie Ar-rasoel written by Shaykh-ul Islaam Ibn Tayymiyah, it was someone called Abu Abdillaah that gave the answer.
And there are many more of these websites that are still online, like
this one. The war continues...

Billboard ad says 'Husband wanted'

Chinese-Australian woman in the market for a husband decided that an advertisement in the lonely hearts column of a newspaper simply wouldn't do. Nor would posting an item on the internet. So Helen Zou, a 40-year-old Sydney civil engineer, went public in the most dramatic form. She erected
a giant billboard at a major Sydney intersection appealing for love.

With some women, nothing helps except beatings

Following is a
discussion with a lawyer on Qatar TV.
"Our civil law and Islamic law do not present wife-beating as a rule, but they deal with a situation where a man beats his wife. What should we do then? My friend, if you beat your wife and it's only light beatings in order to set things straight - that's it. We forgive light beatings. We tell him, 'They are not considered an assault, but discipline.' ...
Light beatings are not excessive. They don't leave a mark, don't break bones, don't cause bleeding, and don't cause death. These are light beatings. With some women - nothing helps except beatings."
The video clip is also available and can be seen

Diet hamburger-pie
Only in America. "Combine ground beef, cornflakes, garlic powder, onion, and egg; mix
well." If a
recipe starts off with mixing beef and cornflakes, you just know which country you're in. Alright, let's say that  you need a diet badly. You'd think some sites advising on diets would know what's healthy and what's not. Then how come there's still sites trying to defend a combination of cheese burger, french fries and a diet coke? Hmmm, something tells me obesity here to stay. Well, at least for a while.

Anti-America
It's a well-known fact to most people around the world that George W. Bush has not made America more popular during his reign. Actually, I think he's a war-loving wanker. Add to that America's leading export products: McDonald's, Windows, the Ab King Pro, Jerry Springer, Pretzels, obesity, capitalism and individualism, and you'll know why.
Usually it's the people rather than Governments that are anti-America, but in North-Korea that is definitely not the case. Check out this
video about the mighty United States of America, the Land of the Free.

Killer hampster
Never knew hampsters could kill people? Well, a Japanese man died after a bite from his pet hamster caused anaphylactic shock, Mainichi Shimbun reports. The nameless forty-something succumbed after repeated bites from the animal sensitised his immune system to such a degree that the final mouthful provoked a fatal bout of asthma.

And retaliation starts...
After last week's killing of Van Gogh, the expected has happened. Mosques and Islamic targets are attacked and even bombed. This seems rather unthinkable for our nice little tolerant and politically correct country, but it seems that people have only been tolerant by ignoring their anger. It is kind of sad though, that good samaritans like for instance this one and this one are now also considered villains by some because of their country of birth or even their parents' country of birth.

Dutch Filmmaker shot & stabbed by Muslim Extremist
Holland was shocked on 2 November when Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh was murdered in cold blood by Moroccan-descent Muslim Extremist Mohammed Bouyeri. It happened on a busy Tuesday morning in the Linaeusstraat in Amsterdam-East. Apparently Theo van Gogh was not the only one in danger as a list of people that are planned to be killed is circulating, including MP Ayaan Hirsi-Ali and Mayor of Amsterdam Job Cohen. The 'ham'-question of course being: how could this happen in a country like the Netherlands. Some say a history of weak leftist politics regarding immigration laws and misinterpretation of 'freedom of speech' have contributed.

Joey the Sailorman
What's new in November? After having sailed on a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) and having added 14 stamps to my passport in two-and-a-half weeks, I am glad to be back again. I will put my log online soon, thereby making it into a blog. Have to admit that life at sea is not that adventurous from what I've seen. It's really kind of boring to spend nine days at sea. My visits to Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai were more exciting and adventurous then all the walks on the deck that I've done at sea.
Nevertheless, it was an experience worth writing about. To be continued soon....

Dodging the law

People try everything to save money. First,
fake parking tickets were available for print-out on the web. Then, there was the automatic parking timer but this beats them all... Want to sell your car? Think it's done to many kilometers? No problem, just have the kilometer gauge rewinded!

Shrek is the sheep from New Zealand that got away from being shaved for six years! Shaving Shrek's fur is not an easy job: New Zealand's best wool cutter has been consulted. He was surprised to see what a tiny little sheep was hidden underneath all that wool. Shrek lost 27 kilogrammes after losing his fur!

The truth about lying

The English 'She Magazine' recently asked 1000 female readers about their opinions with regard to lying. The results are nothing new to us. More than half of the ladies prefer their man to lie when asked about the size of her bottom or her weight. The downside of this survey is that 38% of the women admitted lying to a male partner about his performance in the sack.

Alien chase

Some days before New Year, a Frenchman in Marseilles drove way too fast and drove through some road construction signs. It didn't take long for the police to catch up with the man. The police were obviously dying to hear his explanation. While staring at the felon's poker face, the police were told that he was driving like a madman because he was being chased by martians! The poor man was tested for alcohol consumption but he appeared to be sober. The results of the man's psychiatric examination are still being awaited.

Precious Melons

Yes, fruit is healthy, it contains vitamines and yes, it tastes good. But if you have to pay well-over one thousand euros for some fruit, you might as well enjoy it to the fullest.
Japanese department store Mitsukoshi sells this season's  first two Yubari-melons. These are special and therefore sold by auction. So, customers can bid for these juicy delights starting at 1175 euro's! Fred's Juicy Fruits & Veggies sell similar melons at 4 euro's a piece. I bet even Anna Nicole Smith paid less for hers.

Bomb-bees

Can it get any crazier than this. People are finding all kinds of creative ways to use animals for their own benefits. For years people have been using pigs to find truffles, dogs to find narcotics and pigeons to deliver mail. But US government came up with a tremendous idea. Pentagon is doing tests with bees to find explosives. A Pentagon spokesperson: "It is really a matter of days to train bees in flying towards explosives rather than flowers." Sugar water is used to reward the busy creatures everytime they find an explosive. The bees have tiny microchips attached to their fur, making them easy to trace. It is not known whether the bees have also been trained to eliminate explosives.
