ZPR to promote new CD from former 'New Kid'

Zucker Public Relations, an Aventura-based publicity firm, said former New Kids on the Block singer Jordan Knight has hired the agency to handle media relations during the Dec. 2 launch of his two singles for sale only through the singer's Web site, JordanKnight.com.

The agency did not disclose agency billings for its contract with Knight. ZPR said it will oversee media strategies to reach Knight's fans, which the agency estimated at 10 million people in markets including Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, South Carolina and Houston. The agency said it plans for national radio, newspaper and entertainment television programs to interview Knight.

The two songs are on a $7.99 CD.

"With my background and emphasis on media relations, it's a natural step to represent entertainers and athletes," said agency founder Valerie Zucker. She said she has done promotions and special events for major entertainers and professional sports leagues, including Enrique Iglesias, Dan Marino and Kareem-Abdul Jabbar.
