| January 30, 2004~ First prenatal appointment. Gained 20 pounds, everything looks great! |
| February 27, 2004~ Second prenatal appointment. Up another 4 pounds, had first sonogram. Sonogram showed an Amniotic Band we are keeping an eye on. Baby looks great and was very active. Ultrasound pictures below. |
| March 26, 2004~ Third prenatal appointment. Lost 2 pounds since last appointment. Baby's heartbeat sounded great and very strong. Feeling contractions so doctor gave me permission to take Motrin to help them slow and stop. Everything looked great! |
| April 1, 2004~ Ultrasound appointiment. Everything looks good, amniotic band pushed out of way, baby growing right on target. Looks like a girl! Ultrasound pictures below. |

| April 23, 2004~ Fourth Prenatal Appt. Alyson is growing right on schedule, weighs about 1 pound with a heart rate of 154. Halfway there!! Ultrasound pictures below. |

| May 21, 2004~ Fifth Prenatal Appt. Everything going well, nothing to report. GTT next appt. |
| June 18, 2004~ Sixth Prenatal Appt. Had GTT blood draw today. Doctor was concerned about funal height. I am falling behind and we are concerned the same problems we had during Madison's pregnancy are resurfacing. We'll recheck fundal height a my next appt. in two weeks, if I haven't "caught up" by then we'll do an ultrasound to check on Aly, make sure she's growing on target, there's enough amniotic fluid and there are no placental abnormalities. At today's appt. her heartrate was strong and she's been moving and kicking like crazy, both good signs. My blood pressure was slightly elevated today but still within normal limits. |
| June 30, 2004~ Seventh Prenatal Appt. Fundal height back on track. I'm up 39 pounds now. Passed GTT and everything's going great. |
| July 2, 2004~ Unscheduled Ultrasound Appt. We had some minor concerns so I was asked to go in for an ultrasound. Aly weights about three and a half pounds now. She's looking great and measuring right on schedule for 30 weeks gestation. There was plenty of amniotic fluid. My right kidney and ureters are a bit dilated, one stone present in the kidney and another in the ureter. We did a gender check just to be sure and she's all girl. These ultrasound pictures are not very clear because I had to reduce the size quite a bit but in the first you can see her profile. The second is the "Hamburger" or girl parts (the three tiny horizontal lines) and the third is her face sideways, it's a little tricky to make out but if you can spot a eye (close to the top) you can make out the rest. |

| July 14, 2004~Eigth Prenatal Appt. Alyson is doing great. I on the other hand was not, we talked at length with my doctor about some kidney stone issues and when I should ask for more help. That evening I was admitted to the hospital and ended up needing surgery to place a nephrostomy bag that drains my kidney through my back to help keep my kidney healthy and prevent the severe pain of the stones until after delivery when we can safely treat them. I am no on bedrest until after Alyson is born and I have the bag removed and lithotripsy to break the largest of the stones up. Alyson was perfect through everything and she's growing right on schedule. I was released from the hospital after four days and am resting at home now. |
| July 28, 2004~ Ninth Prenatal Appt. Everything with Alyson is great! My blood pressure was normal and I was only up a pound and a half from my last appt. We talked to the doctor about being induced and we are thinking about inducing labor at week 39. We'll see how things go between now and then, my OB doesn't think I'll still be pregnant then but I think that I will be. If certian signs show we would have a better chance of a successful induction then we'll do it,but if not then we'll wait so nothing's set in stone yet. |
| August 11, 2004~ Tenth Prenatal Appt. Finally a clean bill of healt after everything that has gone wrong during this pregnancy with my kidneys. Alyson is doing excellent considering all she's been through. I'm measuring right at 36cm which is perfect. I've slowed down on weight gain...not that I'm complaining. We're looking to induce during week 39 to be sure we have plenty of time to get to the hospital but so far no sign of labor starting on it's own anytime soon, I think Alyson is much too comfortable in there and will stay until she's evicted. All and all it was a great appt. nice and boring just how they should be. |
| August 17, 2004~ Eleventh Prentatal Appt. Everything still looks great. I am up 4 pounds since my last appt. the week before, blood pressure slightly elevated but still in the okay range, measuring right at 37cm and...finally...2cm 80%. |
| August 25, 2004~ Twelfth Prenatal Appt. Still dilated 2cm, set up induction date for Sept. 7th at 7am. All looks good, very sick of being pregnant. Total weight gain of 52 pounds. |
