This page will introduce you to some of Chicago's great display of public art. It will highlight some of the more well-known public art, showcase annual exhibitions, and introduce the latest installment in the Chicago area. Click on the underlined text to tour each. Riverwalk Gateway Located under the Michigan Aveune Bridge on the south side of the Chicago River, this gateway to the Chicago Riverwalk displays 16 panels that narrate the history of the Chicago River. Pier Walk Navy Pier Every year, Navy Pier is lined with hundreds of sculptures, organized by 3-D Chicago, a not for profit arts organization. This year the exhibit runs from May 8 - November 10, 2002. City Gallery at the Historic Water Tower 800 N. Michigan Avenue Mon-Sat: 10am-6:30pm Sunday: 10am-5pm This exhibit showcases photographs of Chicago-related themes by Chicago area photographers. 2002 exhibitions include: Real life Weddings by Steven E. Goss (January 10-April 2), and Diehard Baseball Fans - photographs taken by the official photographers of the Cubs and White Sox (April 11- July 9). |
