These guys have been tearing it up since the early 80's. They took the Iron Maiden style and combined it with the thrashy early Metallica sound to produce Power Metal. Many consider this to be the supreme metal sound.

Rhapsody has been producing their classical sounding power metal since 1997. The music incorporates opera, classical, symphonic, cinematic and dramatic sounds into heavy metal. There is lots of power, melody, double bass drumming, and great singing (including choirs). Fans of true metal everywhere are going nuts for Rhapsody!

Dragonforce is a relative newcomer on the scene. They dub their music "Extreme Power Metal" for their sheer intensity, passion, and speed. They've recently been incorporating blast beats into their songs. Blast beats were originally only found in Death Metal but this band likes to experiment. Another exceptional aspect of this band is it's aptness to use beautiful melodies and harmonies with the guitars and vocals, especially the vocals. Their vocal melodies will play on in your head long after you've turned the stereo off. This is a sign of a great band.
