When we got home we moved mommy’s desk and other stuff into her new office. Then we put our pictures in the new picture frames and put those all around her desk. Then daddy hung up her new picture. We moved the rocking chair over next to the window and put what was going to be the baby’s blanket over it. It was perfect, even daddy thought so. But I knew it was missing something, but that would have to wait until daddy left tomorrow to finish it off.
The next morning after daddy went to get mommy from the hospital, I went and got the baby hart bear that I had kept under my bed until now and added a special touch to her. Then I brought her into mommy’s new office, and placed her up on mommy’s desk. I heard daddy hollering out “We’re home.” From downstairs, so I ran as fast as I could to see mommy. HI MOMMY I said running into her almost knocking her down. Be careful princess, mommy isn’t supposed to lift you or JJ for a while. Dr. Kerry’s orders. Ok daddy I said. Mommy said why do we go sit on the couch and you can climb into my lap and then give me my hug. OK! And we did just that. I’m so glad your home. I didn’t like your being away for so long. I’m glad you’re all better. Me too sweetheart, me too. Come on mommy, we’ve got something to show you. It’s a surprise. You do? YES….come on mommy, follow me. She took my hand and followed me to the new office. Oh JL I don’t think I can see this right now…..I could tell that she was going to start crying. It’s ok mommy really it is, but it will be ok, I promise. And with that mommy opened the door and started crying harder. OH JL, its beautiful sweetheart. Mommy walked in and turned to see that the room had been painted a bright yellow color to bring light into the room. She also saw that in front of her was a big bay window with the rocking chair by the window with plenty of books all around her. She walked past her desk to sit in her rocking chair, tears still streaming from her eyes. When she looked up she could see the new painting that I bought her. It’s an angel mommy, just like our baby. Its also your new office, so that you won’t have to be disturbed by JJ and I playing all the time, you can come up here where its peaceful and quiet, and if you have to….think about Jaime. Jamie? Who’s Jamie. That’s what I named our baby. Jamie Lynne Hart. She’s our guardian angel mommy. She has long dark hair and blue eyes like daddy. She’s up in heaven keeping uncle max happy. He was sad because you and daddy had JJ and I but he didn’t have anybody, so God gave him Jamie. Please don’t be sad anymore mommy. But if you are its ok, cause Dr. Kerry said so. Mommy looked at me and said come here sweetheart. I love you so much, do you know that? I nodded my head. Mommy if you ever want a hug from Jamie, all you have to do is hug her. How? I climbed down from mommy’s lap and got down the baby hart bear which now had a pair of angel wings on her. Like this I said, and gave her to mommy to hug. I know that none of us will forget our baby, and its going to be a long time before everything seems all right again. But whenever we feel the need too, we can go up to mommy’s office and think about her until we feel better again.
Its been a while since we redid the nursery into mommy’s office and every once in a while when I walk past it, I see mommy in there just sitting there with our Jamie bear in her arms. But I know that as long as mommy is holding on to her, things will be all right.
