Mommy asked Daddy if he was allright and he said yes, then they asked Marie and she said she didn’t think so. That’s when I felt really bad, cause I didn’t want anyone to get hurt I just wanted the burglars to not get Spot. Daddy got up and went over to Marie to check her out. Mommy went down the front stairways and then came over to help them. Mommy helped them both get the liquid soap off of their shoes so they could walk, and then she sent me upstairs to my room to await punishment. So I climbed off of the couch, around the liquid soap and up the front stairway to my room.
I waited there for quite a while until mommy came up. She didn’t really say anything to me at first, so I decided I had better come clean and fess up before things got any worse. I told her that I knew they came into my room last night and I had waited for them to leave and then I went down to watch a movie. I told her about the movie and how I didn’t want Horace and Jasper to get Spot, so that was why I put the liquid soap out like I did. I told her I didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt, I just didn’t want anybody to get Spot.
She just sat there shaking her head. She then turned to me and said JL, when I tell you that its time to go to bed I expect you to do as I say, and not disobey me. That really hurts me when you don’t obey me. Then to make matters worse, you went downstairs and watched a movie without an adult’s permission. Then to top that off, you went and poured liquid soap on the floors when I specifically told you the other day that you were not supposed to use the soap unless I or Marie tells you you can. I am really disappointed in you JL, I thought I taught you how to listen to me better than that.
I am really sorry that I hurt you mommy, I love you too much to do that. I love you too sweetheart, but sorry just doesn’t cut it this time. I have a big mess downstairs that I have to clean up, and as part of your punishment, you are going to help me clean up that mess. Then we are going to wait until your father gets home and he and I are going to discuss what the rest of your punishment is understand? Yes ma’am.
So we went downstairs and cleaned up the mess. Mommy showed me how to clean up some of the liquid soap, but I had to clean the rest of it up. Then she made sure it was all cleaned up thoroughly. Then I went upstairs to wait for daddy to come home. I must have fallen asleep, cause the next thing I knew someone was kissing me on the nose. HI Daddy I said, are you ok? Yes I’m ok sweetheart. Are you sure?? Yes I am sure, but unfortunately, Marie isn’t. Tears started coming to my eyes. She’ll be fine. She just sprained her ankle, and broke her right pinkie finger. Oh daddy, I didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt, I just didn’t want the burglars to get Spot. I know.
Your mother and I have had a long talk about your punishment, but there is one thing I have to know. Do you understand that what you did was wrong and you pinkie swear that you will never do ANYTHING like that again? I pinkie swear daddy. Ok princess as for your punishment, you are not allowed to have any friends over for 1 week, you are also not allowed to watch that movie for one month, and until Marie’s finger heals, you are to help her out until it heals. Deal? Deal.
