We ended up getting JJ a little stuffed monkey, cause mommy said it reminded her of him. Then we got daddy a pair of motorized toy speedboats that you can race in the water. One for him, and one for me. Are you ready to go find out what kind of birthday diner daddy has set up for me tonight? YOU bet I am …. Come on Mommy…..LETS GO! When we got home the house was awfully dark and quiet. I wonder where your father is, mommy said as she flipped on the lights to the living room. SURPRISE!!!! People screamed. I about jumped out of my skin they scared me so bad. They must have scared mommy too, cause she was holding me and wouldn’t let go. Happy Birthday mommy, I said to her. Jonathan, you didn’t. Oh yes I did. Happy Birthday Darling. Ma Ma Birth day JJ said…..MOMMY JJ SAID MA MA! Mommy was so shocked. Daddy said that he had just started saying that this morning and hadn’t stopped saying it yet. Mommy told me to put the presents in my room until later, so I went up to my room with the presents for Daddy and JJ and came back down with my silver package with the big huge bow on it and placed it on the table with the rest of the presents.
Daddy had the diner catered in from Chason’s and we all had plenty to eat. After diner daddy said that it was time for the birthday girl to open her presents. Boy did mommy hit the jackpot. She got bottles of wine and champagne from friends of hers at daddy’s office. Some of the people that came gave her gift certificates to restaurants, clothing stores and even one for a hotel suite. Daddy said the he was going to thank that person personally, and then started laughing. I don’t see what so funny about that one, maybe I’ll understand later. Oh well. The last 3 presents were from Daddy, JJ and I. Mommy opened up the one from Daddy first. Oh My she said, Jonathan, its gorgeous. Then he explained that one of the hearts was from him, one was from me and the other was from JJ, so that we would always have us close to her heart. Then she opened up the earrings that matched the necklace from JJ. Darling, she said these are exquisite. Then she said, Oh my who is this magnificent package from? IT S From ME mommy….open it …. Open it! Calm down sweetheart, I will, I will. And when mommy lifted up the lid, I could see in her eyes she was shocked. Do you like it? I love it honey. I could tell she really didn’t and I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. She got her mother a globe? I heard one of the people standing around watching say. ITS NOT A GLOBE….. IT’S THE WORLD. I cried as I ran past everybody up to my room tears stinging my eyes as I ran. I was on my bed crying when mommy came into the room. JL what's wrong honey, why are you crying? You didn’t like my present mommy. I could see it in your eyes. You didn’t like my present. Young lady did you hear me say that I didn’t like your present? No…..But I heard them say that it was just a globe mommy. But its not a globe it’s the world. I didn’t know what to get you for your birthday, and when I saw it I knew…. I knew I wanted to give you the world for your birthday, I said looking down at mommy’s hands holding on to mine. Look at me JL. I looked up to mommy’s eyes and I saw that tears were streaming down her face just like they were streaming down mine. I don’t need you to give me the world sweetheart. You, daddy and JJ ARE my world, but I am glad that you gave me the globe to remind me of that ok? Ok mommy. I love you. I love you too. Now how about you and I go into the bathroom and make ourselves look presentable and then go back downstairs and see if anybody has left us any cake and ice cream ok? Ok mommy. And mommy. Yes sweetheart. Thank you. Your welcome. Now lets go find the cake and ice cream.
