STEP ONE:   Take one square of mole foam and draw a straight line diagonally and cut into two pieces. (you will have two triangle like pieces if cut correctly).  With the paper still attached to the mole foam ( adhesive side)  make the triangle into a funnel shape  (see picture below.). Insert the funnel into your boxers ear and try to determine the correct length that the foam should be for your boxer and also the circumference inside the base of the ear.  Don't tape before you test.  Once you determine the correct size, use your scissors to cut the foam to the correct length and shape LEAVE THE PAPER ON THE ADHESIVE WHILE CUTTING TO SIZE.. Once the foam is correctly cut, now you can carefully remove the paper off the adhesive side and shape the foam to insert into the ear.  Shape with the adhesive side OUT. Once it is overlapped at the bottom, apply a strip of athletic tape to hold the shape. (pictured to your right)

STEP TWO:   Clean the inside of your boxers ears including inside the ear as far as your finger will allow using baby wipes.  Allow the ear to dry with air.

STEP THREE: Spray the entire outside of the adhesive side of the mole foam, athletic tape included with the tuff skin spray adhesive.  Allow to set/dry several minutes.

STEP FOUR: Coat the inside of your dogs ear with the new skin adhesive.  Allow to set/dry  for a few minutes.

STEP FIVE: Place the sticky funnel shape inside your dogs sticky ear pulling up gently to stretch the ear to fit the shape of the mole foam..  Remember that the funnel part at the bottom is to shape the dogs ear as well, and its important that you have it inserted down far enough.  Actually if its inserted properly you will see very little of the athletic tape.  Once you move it in the proper position,  put pressure on the mole foam entirely to help the adhesive stick to the skin of the ear. Allow to set for a minute or two, then apply one strip of athletic tape around the base of the ear.
If the foam becomes loose, in some areas, you can touch up spots with the new skin, but these will need to be replaced on a regular basis.

Commitment... to follow through to your goal
The use of mole foam is another ear posting system, without using posts, that I’ve had tremendous success with. It  is fairly easy and  when done properly should yield the results that you’ve been looking for in a beautiful standing ear.

Again, I have to admit, that I’ve never attempted this technique with the long show crop personally.  I have talked to other breeders and  owners that have used this technique and were very pleased.  However, since I’m posting this on my site, I’ll be the first to say.. This works great on the German Crops or crops that are shorter, fatter than the standard show crop.   This method keeps the ears stretched and they have turned to be very impressive.

I always suggest that you do as much research as possible and hopefully come in contact with someone who has used the technique that you’ve chosen  BEFORE YOU HAVE YOUR BOXERS EARS DONE.  It will do more harm than good if your posting them improperly, so be acquainted BEFORE you actually have the procedure done.
