|
Concord is the state capital of New Hampshire and the thrid largest city. population is about 40,000 but increases greatly during weekdays when the multitude of Government and service agencies are in full operation. City Services fall under three main agencies. The Fire Department, Police Department and the General Services Department. The first two are self explanatory but General Services provides multiple services including, public works, fleet maintenance, radio repair, water/wastewater resources, city building maintenance, and sanitation. There are additional agencies such as health, recreation, development and schools. But the main three handle the majority of city services. In addition, many state agencies have offices and personel in Concord. Some act in Law Enforcement or Safety roles within the confines of the city. In addition, New Hampshires E-911 center is located in Concord answering calls statewide for emergencies. |

They also maintain a UHF repeater for Fire Alarm/Administrative funcstions as well as UHF Links for transmitter sites and even the Internet Live Feed! The General Services Department too, runs VHF Highband Simplex Analog. Concord Police now operate on an APCO P-25 Digital System on High-Band in both Repeater and Simplex modes. School busses are found on two UHF Repeaters and most schools operate on either dedicated frequencies or Family Radio (FRS) frequencies. The City has a ful-time radiop technician for all radio maintenance in the city. |
