NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY
The New Hampshire Department of Safety is the parent agency for all of the agencies tasked with the safety of citizen and visitors to New Hampshire. It's largest and most well known agency is the State Police. But many agencies fall under the Department of Safety. These include: Marine Patrol, Fire Marshal, Fire Standards and Training, Division of Motor Vehicles and numerous smaller inspectional agencies (Tramways, Gaming Enforcement, Hearings, etc). Many of these agencies are moving or obtaining radios to operate on the new State Police Radio System. Listed here are agencies under the Department of Safety operating independent or parallel to the State Police Radio System. This particular page deals with the agencies assigned radio operations. A specific breakdown of State Agencies under the Department of Safety may be found at www.state.nh.us.
NEW HAMPSHIRE MARINE PATROL The Marine Patrol is tasked with safety of New Hampshire's many waterways, lakes and ponds. All bodies of water fall under the Marine Patrol except the Atlantic Ocean which also has Marine Patrol involvement. With the exception of Lake Winnepesaukee (and Winnisquam) and the Atlantic Coast, bodies of water are assigned to districts with one or more Marine Patrol Officers conducting patrols and investigations. The district units have all switched to the State Police Digital system but currently on their own frequency. As of the Summer of 2000, the Winnepesaukee and Atlantic units were still operating on their 800MHz channels. The dispatcher simulcasts on both the 800Mhz in Analog and VHF in digital mode. 854.4875 / PL-151.4 - Winnepesaukee, Winnisquam and Atlantic Units (Dispatcher Analog) 159.150 / Digital - District / Statewide Units. |
