MIDSOMER MURDERS

CHRISTMAS 2008
How John Nettles and Jason Hughes will be spending the festive season!

John Nettles

When 'Days of Misrule' is screened, John will be enjoying a festive break in Jersey.

"I'm spending Christmas with the grandchildren - Nathan who's nine and Sophie who's two. That's a great delight to me. One year I was in panto at Christmastime playing Fleshcreep in Jack and the Beanstalk. In the middle of all this mayhem, Nathan was born. It was very joyful.

"The best Christmas present I ever received was a guitar from my first wife, but the present I'd like most would be a guest slot in CSI Miami. I really admire the chutzpah of David Caruso and I'd love to be in that show."

John will also be spending some of his short break from filming at the home he shares with his wife Cathy, near Stratford-on-Avon.

"We only have one dog now, a Welsh Collie called Greta, but I have five chickens called The Spice Girls, bought for me by the missus who thought I should take up smallholding. So on my days off from Midsomer and digging up bodies, I go and collect eggs. No doubt, I'll also be going to the RSC to see some of my acting friends and enjoying some mulled wine and chestnuts."

Jason Hughes

Jason is likely to spend his Christmas break at home with his wife Natasha, nine-year-old daughter Molly and three-year-old son Max. He says his ideal present would be four first class tickets to the sun!

"The children know acting is not a glamorous life but Molly's getting a taste for it. She's got a part in a local theatre production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat which she thinks is great. At home she's a real performer but if you put her on stage she gets shy, so I'm hoping she doesn't lose her confidence on the night."
