Ben&Meg Songs
The lyrics of the 1998 story line songs

~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~

On this page you will find the lyrics of the songs which appeared in
"Sunset Beach" in 1998  as the background for Ben and Meg's relationship.
The songs which FIRST appeared in 1997 storyline are on the respective page!

I love the music of "Sunset Beach" and since there is no official soundtrack I thought that I can express my appreciation by at least posting the lyrics on my page. I do not intend ant copyright infringement!
Please notice that I do not know the actual titles of the songs so I gave them my own - I tried to make them as appropriate as possible. Please also notice that I wrote down the lyrics as heard by my non-native ear! I might have made mistakes!!! Please, by all means help me in correcting them by E-mailing me!

You can actualy listen to some of the songs at Dominic Messinger's site.

Way Back Then

This is a song which appeared once -  when Meg realized that the Connection she and Ben had was back when she was at his bed in hospital after he was rescued from the warehouse by Casey.

I found the lyrics of this song especially difficult for me to note down, and most of my native friends couldn't help me with them, but if you can, please do. The lyrics of the stanza sound a little bit "odd". I really did my best to make them as accurate as possible, but it's more than certain that I heard something wrong.

WAY BACK WHEN

Years have gone
And don't say no (???)
We danced together under stars (???)
And then the yellow tears/fears (???)
We dragged down hills (???)
Filled the land of us (???)
And I crossed to think that
We must have let it all
I call
Thinking about the way things were back then
I call
Just to hear the sound of your heart still beating
What I'd give
To feel of you again
To have it all just the way things were back when
The way back when

        The way back when

Your Love Will Be With Me

This is a very sad, beautiful song which appeared only once, and I pray we won't have to hear it ever again - when Meg discovered "Ben's" ashes and realized he was dead.

YOUR LOVE WILL BE WITH ME

It's never easy letting go
There's just so much to say
So much we'll never know
If I could look into your eyes
Tell you one more time
To fill the emptiness inside
I'll take the memories
And all the tears we've cried
Though destiny tore us apart
You're always on my heart
In my dreams I still see you
We're in love for eternity
In my heart I will feel you

And I'll know your love will  be with me

Your Love
by Jim Brickman

This is the song to which Ben and Meg danced their first dance at the reception.

You can find it on Jim Brickman's CD -- "Visions Of Love"

 YOUR LOVE

It's not the flowers wrapped in fancy paper
It's not the ring I wear around my finger
There's nothing in all the world I need
When I have you here beside me
Here beside me

So you could give me wings to fly
And catch me if I fall
Or pull the stars down from the sky
So I could wish on them all
I couldn't ask for more
Because your love is the greatest gift of all

In your arms
I found a strength inside me
And in your eyes
There's a light to guide me
I would be lost without you
And all that my heart could ever want has come true

So you could give me wings to fly
And catch me if I fall
Or pull the stars down from the sky
So I could wish on them all
I couldn't ask for more
Because your love is the greatest gift of all

You could offer me the sun and the moon
And I would still believe
You gave me everything
When you gave your heart to me

I couldn't ask for more
Because your love is the greatest gift of all
You could give me wings to fly
And catch me if I fall
Or pull the stars down from the sky
So I could wish on them all
I couldn't ask for more
Because your love is the greatest gift of all
Your love is the greatest gift of all

        The greatest gift of all)

Always you And I
by Kati Mac

This is the song to which Meg remembered her wonderful time with Ben (in Ben's house) after they learnt Dana was Maria.  It was nominated for best original song in daytime series - running up for an Emmy!
It's going to be available on Kati Mac's new CD that has the working title RuBi RuBi. Thanks, Hals ;-)

ALWAYS YOU AND I

Remembering a time
When love was so new
I knew inside my heart
My lonely days were through
After all the years of searchin'
After all the nights alone
I finely found a place where
I belong

You and I
Through the test of time
Our love, always survives
And I only know
I will love you so
Always you and I

Remembering the times
We made each other cry
I pushed your love away
Lost in foolish pride
All the time that I spend searching
In my heart I was alone
But I finely found my way
Back home

You and I
Through the test of time
Our love, always survives
And I only know
I will love you so
Always you...

I want us to live forever
Feeling this way
Babe, you can count on me to stay
Ohh, ho,

You and I
Through the test of time
Our love, always survives
And I only know
I will love you so
Always you and I

Always, you and I

The Language Of Love

This is the song to which Ben and Meg made love for the first time after the wedding.

 THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE

One touch
One look
Nothing ever felt so right
One chance
We took
We were born again that night
Knowing that you're next to me
Feeling love so easily
With words never spoken
To the hearts still unbroken
One truth fills the silence
Never ending
Never dying

        Understanding the language of love

Something To Believe In
by Linda Eder

This is the song which they had playing in the Thanksgiving - November 27, 1999 episode for the Thanksgiving montage at the end of the episode.

SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN

We all need something to believe in
We all need a light to see us through
We all need something to believe in
I found something to believe in in you
I was like a wayward ship, drifting out to nowhere
Tossing in the raging waters, trying to find my way home
You must be an angel watching over me
Your loving arms my harbor, now I know I'll never go
We all need something to believe in
We all need a light to see us through
We all need something to believe in
I found something to believe in in you
And now that I have found you, I'll never let you go
Now my search is finally over
Cause you're the only truth I'll ever know
You know that
We all need something to believe in
We all need a light
We all need (we all need) something to believe in
I found something to believe in in you
We all need (something to believe in) something to believe in
We all need a light
We all need (we all need) something to believe in
(Something to believe in)
I found something to believe in
We all need something to believe in
We all need something to believe in
I found something to believe in
We all need something to believe in
We all need a light

We all need something to believe in
