**KERRY'S SKATING BIOGRAPHY**

In 1989, Kerry then aged 7 began skating at her local rink, Dundonald International Ice Bowl. Kerry progressed quickly and began taking private lessons with Coach Catherine Armstrong. From there grew a life long affinity with the sport which Kerry maintains to this day through her connections with Bangor Ice Skating Club. Below are just some of her achievements from her figure skating career.
**1989** Aged 7, was invited to skate in Dundonald International Ice Bowl's christmas show 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' alongside International Figure Skaters such as Steven Cousins.
**1989** DFFISC - Under Prelim - Kerry takes FIRST place!
**1990** In the Space of a year Kerry passes the National Ice Skating Association levels from 1-10.
**1990** DFFISC - Under Prelim - Kerry takes SECOND place!
**1990** Northern Ireland Open Competitions, Kerry takes FIRST place in the Under Prelim section!
**1990** Invited to skate in the International Skating Show "NICKY SLATER'S ITS GREAT TO SKATE" alongside World and Olympic skaters such as Christopher Bowan and Kirk Browning..
**1990** Kerry represents local skaters in UTV's Telethon 1990, taking part in TV and Newspaper Interviews.
**1991** Ayr Open Competition - Kerry Places SECOND!
**1991** Passes all Prelim tests
**1991** Northern Ireland Open Competitions - Kerry takes Second place on the rostrum!
**1991** Invited to skate In DFFISC Christmas Ice Spectacular.
**1991** Kerry is Sponsored by Castlereagh Borough Council - an accolade which they continue awarding her with until the end of her career.
**1992** Kerry passes all her Inter Bronze Figure and Free Tests.
**1992** Kerry places 4th out of a field of over 35 skaters at the Bradford Open Competitions.
**1992** Kerry is invited to train in Bradford Arena over the summer months with top Coach Joy Sutcliffe.
**1992** Kilmarnock Open Competition - Kerry takes 6th Place out of a field of over 30 skaters in her first Inter Bronze Competition, skating against much older and experienced competitors.
**1993** Kerry switches coaches and begins training with professional coach STEPHANIE MITCHELL
**1993** Kilmarnock Open Competitions - Kerry takes 3rd Place!
**1994** Kerry passes her entire Bronze tests and therefore qualifies for the BURMAH CASTROL BRITISH NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS.A feat which to this day few Northern Irish skaters have achieved at such a young age.
**1994** Kerry places 3rd in the Semi-finals and 5th in the Finals of the Alexandra Palce National Opens in London.
**1994** Northern Ireland Open Competitions - Kerry takes 4th Place!
**1994** Invited as a SOLO skater at Coleraine Ice Skating Club's Christmas Show
**1995** Northern Ireland Open Competitions - Bronze - Force to Withdraw due to  Injury
**1995** BURMAH CASTROL BRITISH NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS - SWINDON- Kerry Places in the top 10, taking 7TH Place in her long Programme!
**1996** Kerry passes all her INTER SILVER tests
**1996** Northern Ireland Open Championships - Inter Silver Ladies Competition - Kerry skates off with the BRONZE medal!
**1996** Invited to the  Skating School Supreme  in Whitley Bay to train with British National Coach LORNA BROWN and Russian Olympic Coach RAPHAEL ARUTUNIAN
**1996** Kerry passes her SILVER tests
**1996** SOLO skater in Bangor Ice Skating Club Christmas Show
**1996** Kilmarnock Open Competitions - SILVER LADIES - SILVER MEDAL!
**1997** Invited back to train at the Skating School Supreme with LORNA BROWN, RAPHAEL ARUTUNIAN and also top European Skater ALEXANDER ABT
**1997** Kerry is chosen to play a principle role of PHAROH in BISC's Production of Joseph On Ice
**1997** Kerry is unable to compete this season due to an ongoing and serious Injury
**1997** Kerry trains with British National Choreographer Jayne Taylor.
**1998** Kerry retires from Competitive Skating due to Family Move Abroad
**1999** Offered Opportunity to Coach in Spain
**2000** Kerry begins her BA HONS Degree at Queens Univeristy Belfast
**2003** Kerry rejoins BANGOR ICE SKATING CLUB
**2004** Kerry graduates from Queens University Belfast with BA HONS.
**2005** Kerry is elected onto the Bangor Ice Skating Club Committee.
**2006** Kerry performs at the Bangor Ice Skating Christmas Show.
