Bio and martial arts background Chris Casamassa is an expert martial artist and has a 7th Dan in Red Dragon Karate, taught to him by his father, the famous Louis D. Casamassa. Chris Casamassa now owns 25 Martial Arts schools in California and teaches regularly at his school in Covina. He now has trained for more than 20 years and gained a lot of titles and prizes. Here's a summary of his martial arts stats: 1993 AKKF Hall of Fame Top Competitor and Instuctor of the year. 1991-1992 Weapons Grand Champion at several locations 1988-1993 Forms Grand Champion at many locations He has been a champion in Canada, New York, California, Kentucky, Washington, North Carolina, Denver etc. Retired from competition in 1992 His popularity really started after starring as Scorpion in Mortal Kombat(1995), after which he was discovered and asked for WMAC-Masters(1995) as Red Dragon. He got his Scorpion-role concidentally. Originally cast as a background fighter, his skills were noticed by the producers, and they immidiately picked him for the great role. Chris has many other skills, such as hosting, gymnastics, scuba diving, mountain biking, snow-boarding and philanthropy. Chris recently married his lovely Michelle. |
