Bio and martial arts resume Born 7 April 1954, Hong Kong. In 1960 Jackie enrolled in the Peking opera school. There he studied for about ten years under Master Yu-Jim Yuen and there Jacke got the name Yuen Lo. At the school Jackie was doing traditional Chinese arts of performing, singing, acting and of course acrobatics and martial arts. At the same school Jackie met some friends who have been his co-stars nowadays such as Samo Hung and Yuen Biao. As a child, Jackie's first role would be in 1962. At the age of 17 Jackie left the school and gained some bigger roles. He fought Bruce Lee in "Fist of Fury" and later in "Enter the Dragon". In those years Jackie had some acting roles and many stunt parts. In 1972 Jackie worked for the Lo Wei company, and made some cool movies with friend Willie Chan, but in 1976 Jackie joined his parents in Australie and worked hard for his money. Because he wanted to have a similiar name as the other guys (all Australian) he was soon named Jack, after a local worker there, which became Jackie. After 1978 Jackie would again be a star in some movies. No more Bruce Lee clones, but with his own Kung Fu. Stunts became more popular, so Jackie became more popular, because he'd do things nobody else would dare. Jackie's life has been endangered more than once. Jackie would work again with Samo Hung and soon make movies in the US. Jackie's star rose after Rumble in the Bronx and is now a leading actor and stuntman, but also a director and producer. |
