Gary started training Kung Fu at the age of 5 and went on to master Tae Kwon Do. In total he studied four martial arts styles. He received his 2nd degree black belt with Tae Kwon Do at the age of 16, but after that realized that belts meant nothing to him. He was a regular on the tournament circuit before he began his acting carreer. This after winning several ITF titles. After being disqualified from Tae Kwon Do tournaments because he knocked someone out, Gary moved on to train Kickboxing in the PKA system. Gary also did some Muay Thay, Aikido and Taijtsu.
He is a big fan of Jackie after working with him on "City Hunter". He loves doing martial arts in movies and will go on as long as his body allows him to. He also does most of his stunts. He does the fighting, leeping and falling. He only uses stunt-people for car-stunts, very high falls, helicopter stuff etc.
Now, besides acting he also does coordinating and producing. He also continues with kickboxing with the WKBA and has been a Champ in California. Gary has now met his favorite mentor in Winston Omega and continues to train in Sillum Wong Ka Kune.
Gary made 2 other movies before Ring of Fire. They seemed to be disastrous, but he met his wife there. Since then, all went better.
