Bio and martial arts background Master Hopkins is a 7th degree in Tzan Kune Jan Do, and inductee in the world Martial Arts Hall Of Fame. Master Hopkins is also a great martial arts instructor since 1977, at his East Coast Karate Academy in Swampscott, Massachusetts. He has been training for over 30 years and won many tournaments and gold medals in semi- and full-contact fighting. He trained in Hong Kong under Master Lo in the Northern Tong Long system, Kempo and Shoto Kan. Now he still studies 7 martial arts and spawned some great champions such as Richard Branden from WMAC-Masters and John Salvitty. In 1998 he was inducted in the world martial arts hall of fame and chosen as instructor of the year. He is also an expert in his self-developed martil art: Waza Waza. And in 1999 he became a certified Tae Bo instructor for Billy Blanks.
