Bio and martial arts resume Michael Jai White started training martial arts at the age of 8, and achieved his first black belt at the age of 12, and now holds seven black belts in various martial arts. He has ben training Shotokan Karate, ITF and WTF Tae Kwon Do, Kobudo, Tang Soo Do, and Goju Ryu. Originally a student of Shigeru Oyama, he's now the head of World Oyama Karate. He also trained Wushu with Eric Chen and had the privilege of training with Benny Urquidez, James Lew, Don Wilson, Jean Claude van Damme, Billy Blanks, Bill Wallace and Joe Lewis and many others. All martial arts champions and action stars. Michael is also the co-founde of Top Ten Karate with Larry Rogers Jr. Some stats: 26 titles, including; US Open North American Open New England Grand Champion Before his acting carreer Michael worked many times with children as a martial arts teacher, but also as a school teacher, gifted with the talent to help troubled youngsters. Michael won many fights and trophies before starting his acting carreer which is very succesfull. He is ready for all kind of roles, acting, fighting, horror, etc. |
