Story Earth realm is but one of many. Another realm is ruled by Shao Kahn, who wants to rule all realms. This is possible thanks to Mortal Kombat. Each realm can send his best warriors to MK. The winners can enter the realm from the losers and conquer it by force. This time they've come for Earth. Shao Kahn sends the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung to invite our ignorant best warriors, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, and some others, but only they possess the strength. Rayden, God of thunder and lightning, protectopr of the Earth, guides them through this myth. As soon as they are ready they will face Shang's warriors, ninjas, monsters, etc. Our faith depends on them. |

My thoughts One of the best martial arts films ever. Great fights, the acting could be better, but was ok. Shang Tsung was cool, and the ninjas; Scorpion, Subzero and Reptile kicked ass. The story may be weird, but it was cool. It was like the games, and if you're flexible, you'll love it. The shadows, the dark settings, and the pounding soundtrack. Go buy it, go watch it, and go adore it. |

Trivia All the fighting ninjas were supposed to be Baraka's / Tarkatan warriors with the faces and blades. Plans were changed and ninjas were used instead. Sonya was to be played by Cameron Diaz who backed out because of a broken wrist. Johnny Cage was to be played by Brandon Lee who died before shooting. However uncredited J.J. Perry did most of the fighing for Johnny Cage. Also uncredited was Mitch Gaylord who did Scorpions double flip. Other people who auditioned for Liu Kang are Phillip Rhee, Russell Wong and Jason Scott Lee. Chris Casamassa was supposed to be a background fighter, but the producers were very impressed after watching his martial arts demo and picked him for Scorpion. |
