Bio and martial arts background Benny Urquidez comes from a family of athletes. His mother was a pro-wrestler, and his father a pro-boxer. His sibling were all black-belts. Benny himself competed in Pee-Wee Boxing at the age of 5. Since then Benny has earned black belts in 9 martial arts styles and is also practising other arts. He trained under Arnold Urquidez, his brother and Ed Parker and many other Masters. Benny got his first black belt at the age of 14 and was undefeated in the adult black belt division. At that time, winning many tournaments, Benny choose to practise Full Contact Karate. Benny was the only fighter to retain 6 World Champion Titles in 24 years. He holds an impresive fight record of over 200 wins and zero losses. Benny 'The Jet' is the longest reigning World Champion in history. He retired from competition in 1993. He had created his own style and began his new passion; Acting. By now he is also a stuntman and choreographer for other actors. He wrote some books and is still a respected martial artist. Not coincidentally his wife Sara and his daughter Monique are talented Kickboxers as well. |
