Biography
Karen Sheperd is considered a role model by martial arts fans and major action oriented film audiences worldwide. The former #1 Black Belt Martial Arts Champion has successfully converted the single minded determination of an awarded athlete into a steadfast passion for action and . . . action! Sheperd toured the national martial arts tournament circuit and held the title of #1 USA Black Belt Champion in "Forms" competition for two consecutive years. She was the first woman to win the Grand Champion title in the prestigious U.S. Open Karate Tournament. Karen is one of an elite group of individuals to have been inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame. Respected worldwide for her expertise and skill, Karen has been featured on the covers of every major martial arts publication and in hundreds of articles worldwide. Sheperd continues to be popular on the seminar and appearance circuit throughout the U.S. and Europe where she teaches various aspects of the martial arts.
An experienced fight coordinator/choreographer, Karen Sheperd's love for fights and action also find her with many stunt-doubling credits, most recently as the regular stunt double for actress Nia Peeples on "Walker: Texas Ranger." Karen Sheperd has solidified herself as an "action actor"... an actress who does her own stunts. She has turned in many notable performances in feature and television roles. Her fight in "Righting Wrongs," directed by the great Hong Kong action director Cory Yuen, became a martial arts cult classic. Her first episode guest-starring as "The Enforcer" on television's "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" received the highest ratings ever for the show.
