BUFFALO, NY -- Martin Biron turned aside a season-high 44 shots as the Buffalo
Sabres tied the Philadelphia Flyers, 1-1, on Wednesday. Biron made 17 saves in
the first period and stopped all five shots he faced in the extra session to
preserve the tie. Alexei Zhitnik netted his second goal in as many games for
Buffalo, which has earned at least one point in seven of its last nine games.
John LeClair recorded his ninth goal of the season for Philadelphia, which
ended its eight-game road trip with a mark of 2-3-2-1. Robert Esche made 20
saves in the tie for the Flyers.
