PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Jeremy Roenick scored twice for the Philadelphia Flyers in
a 2-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. Roenick opened the scoring
at 3:19 of the first period and broke a 1-1 tie midway through the second for
his first game-winner of the season. Robert Esche, who has won four of his last
five starts, turned aside 25 of 26 shots to pick up the win for Philadelphia,
which is 4-1-0 since January 16 following a six-game winless skid. Mika Noronen
suffered his fourth consecutive defeat after allowing two goals on 20 shots.
Ales Kotalik recorded his first goal since December 26 for Buffalo, which has
dropped six of its last eight road games.
