PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Pavel Kubina and Ruslan Fedotenko each scored in the second
period to help the Tampa Bay Lightning edge the Philadelphia Flyers, 2-1, on
Monday. Kubina evened the score on the power play seven minutes into the stanza
for his fifth goal in his last six games and Fedotenko followed 1:42 later with
his first game-winner of the season, extending his point-scoring streak to five
games. Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 18 shots to pick up his third victory in as
many starts against Philadelphia. Neil Little, who made his first NHL
appearance since 2001 when he replaced an injured Robert Esche early in the
second period, allowed two goals on eight shots in defeat. Michal Handzus, who
has seven points in his last four games, broke a scoreless tie early in the
middle stanza for the Flyers, who have lost five of their last seven on home
ice.
