PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Jonathan Cheechoo had a season-high three points for the
San Jose Sharks in a 5-2 triumph over the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.
Cheechoo helped Scott Thornton establish a 3-1 lead midway through the second
period and registered a goal and an assist in the final stanza, giving him 15
goals and 28 points through 58 games. Thornton added two assists and both Mike
Ricci and Marco Sturm contributed a goal and an assist for San Jose, which has
won four of its last six by a combined score of 18-9. Evgeni Nabokov made 20
saves to pick up his ninth victory in his last 13 starts. Sean Burke stopped 15
shots in the loss, allowing five goals for the second time in his last four
starts. John LeClair equaled his goal output from last season with his 18th
tally and Simon Gagne netted his fifth marker in his last six games for
Philadelphia, which gave up five goals for the first time in its last 15 games.
