PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Alexei Zhamnov and Tony Amonte each scored in the second
period to help the Philadelphia Flyers defeat the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-1, on
Tuesday. Zhamnov broke a scoreless tie with help from Kirby Law 3:46 into the
stanza and Amonte followed with his 17th tally of the season late in the period
for a 2-0 cushion. Claude Lapointe chipped in with his first marker since
November 28 and Sean Burke halted a personal three-game losing skid by stopping

January 12, made 23 saves in the loss. Scott Nichol had the only goal for
Chicago, which fell to 4-9-2 against the Eastern Conference this season.
