PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Brian Leetch had his fifth three-point game of the season
as the Toronto Maple Leafs downed the Philadelphia Flyers, 3-2, on Thurday.
Leetch assisted on a shorthanded tally by Gary Roberts in the first period,
netted his fifth power-play goal of the season early in the second and
established a 3-0 cushion with just over four minutes gone in the third. Ed
Belfour, who recorded his second assist of the season, stopped 10 of the 12
shots he faced in the third period and finished with 26 saves for the win.
Robert Esche gave up three goals on 14 shots in the loss, ending his five-game
unbeaten streak. Kim Johnsson netted his sixth goal in his last eight games for
Philadelphia, which had its five-game home unbeaten streak snapped.
