MONTREAL, QUE -- Sean Burke recorded his 35th career shutout as the
Philadelphia Flyers blanked the Montreal Canadiens, 2-0. Burke turned aside 17
shots over the first and second periods and finished with 24 saves for his
second win in as many starts. Simon Gagne tallied his second game-winner in his
last four games and Michael Handzus registered his 100th NHL goal for
Philadelphia, which reached the 100-point plateau for the fourth time in five
seasons. Jose Theodore suffered his third loss in as many starts after allowing
two goals on 23 shots for Montreal, which has dropped four straight after
winning six of its previous eight.
