Philadelphia Flyers earn a 3-3 tie with the New York Islanders, clinching the
Atlantic Division for the fifth time in franchise history. Johnsson put a feed
from Branko Radivojevic past goaltender Wade Dubielewicz 4:20 into the final
stanza to complete the scoring, giving his team a final record of 101 points
(40-21-15-6). Keith Primeau and Jeremy Roenick each added a goal and Robert
Esche stopped 23 shots for Philadelphia, which will face the New Jersey Devils
in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Dubielewicz finished with 33
saves in the tie. Adrian Aucoin, Roman Hamrlik and Alexei Yashin each had a
goal and an assist for New York, which will face off against Tampa Bay in its
first-round series.
