PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Aleksey Morozov scored with under eight minutes left in
regulation to help the Pittsburgh Penguins earn a 3-3 tie with the
Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. After Mario Lemieux cut the Philadelphia lead
to 3-2 early in the third period, Morozov took a feed from Ryan Malone and
beat goaltender Robert Esche for his first goal of the season. Lemieux added
and assist and Sebastien Caron turned aside 32 of 35 shots, including three in
overtime to preserve the tie for Pittsburgh. Esche registered 20 saves in the
tie for the Flyers, who have now earned at least one point in 21 of their last
20 meetings against the Penguins. Justin Williams, Claude Lapointe and Donald
Brashear each scored for Philadelphia.
