PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Jeremy Roenick had a goal and an assist for the
Philadelphia Flyers in a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday,
extending their season-high winning streak to four games. Roenick netted his
team-leading seventh goal of the season in the first period and helped Mark
Recchi break a 1-1 tie midway through the second. With his performance, Roenick
has six points in his last three games. Jeff Hackett turned aside 23 shots to
pick up consecutive wins for the first time this year for Philadelphia, which
has held its opponent to one goal or less in five of its last seven games.
Garth Snow, who stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced in the second period, had
31 saves in the loss. Adrian Aucoin tallied his first goal of the season for
New York, which has lost two straight after taking the previous three.
