PHILADELPHIA, PA -- John LeClair scored on the power play early in the third
period to help the Philadelphia Flyers edge the Phoenix Coyotes, 3-2, on
Friday. Jim Vandermeer and Tony Amonte each netted a second-period goal for a
2-1 lead before LeClair tallied his fifth of the season 78 seconds into the
third for a two-goal cushion. Robert Esche turned aside 18 shots and helped
shut down four Phoenix power plays for Philadelphia, which improved to 12-0-2
on home ice. Sean Burke made 28 saves in defeat, dropping his record to 8-8-3.
Branko Radivojevic and Andrei Nazarov each scored for the Coyotes, who have won
just three of their last nine road games.
