EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- Keith Primeau scored with under seven minutes left in
the third period to help the Philadelphia Flyers tie the New Jersey Devils,
3-3, on Friday. Primeau, who finished with two points, took a pass from Sami
Kapanen and beat goaltender Martin Brodeur for his ninth career game-tying
goal. Kapanen added a goal and an assist and Jeff Hackett stopped 18 shots for
Philadelphia, which registered a tie in consecutive games for the first time
since October 16. Brodeur made two saves in overtime and finished with 37 stops
in the tie. Patrik Elias extended his point-scoring streak to four games with a
goal and an assist for New Jersey, which had its three-game winning streak
snapped.
