ATLANTA, GA -- Ronald Petrovicky had his second two-goal game of the season
for the Altanta Thrashers in a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on
Sunday. Petrovicky opened the scoring with an unassisted goal 89 seconds into
the contest and re-established a one-goal lead with help from Ilya Kovalchuk
midway through the middle stanza. Kovalchuk chipped in with an assist and
Byron Dafoe picked up his fourth win in his last five starts with 25 saves for
Atlanta, which has scored 11 goals in its last two contests after being held
scoreless over its previous three. Jeff Hackett, who saw his season-high
winless skid increase to six games (0-4-2), surrendered four goals on 30 shots
in the loss. John LeClair had the only goal for Philadelphia, which has
recorded just one victory over its last seven games.
