Milky way, Camp Cheesehead, May 2002 |

I took the lx200 and the st-4 up to Greggy's camp way deep in the woods of maine. Got a gorgeous night with little to no wind after sunset but unfortunately, just could not get the st-4 locked on a guidestar so I could only take wide field unguided shots. Here they are. |

Cygnus to Altair in the Milky Way. 5 minute exposure with a wide angle 27mm lens. Note the dark lanes and rifts in the milky way. Unfortunately, the wind really got going so I was unable to get my next shot out, the Sagitarius Milky Way. |
Cygnus Milky way rising in the east. Note the red glowing hydrogen emission nebula's from right to left, the North american nebula, the pelican nebula and the butterfly nebula. Shot was 5 minutes long on Kodak LE400, unguided. |

North american nebula in Cygnus. The wind was getting kinda nasty around 2:00am and might have moved the scope a bit. This was a 7 minute exposure on Kodak LE400 through a 200mm lens piggybacked on the lx200, unguided. |
