Orion's sword. You can see the main nebula (m42) as well as NGC 1973. This was taken on Kodak Max 400, 30 minute exposure through a f/7 refractor guided with a 201xt. |

This and the rosette below were both 60 minute exposures, too long of an exposure given the skyglow that night from christmas lights in the neighborhood. This convinced me for the need to get a sky glow filter. You can see the flame nebula somewhat visible next to zeta orionis. The horsehead nebula should be visible were it not for the excessive skyglow. f/7 560 mm refractor, kodak max 400. |

Ugh! 60 minute exposure of the rosette nebula, refractor in its mount wobbled during the exposure causing the star trailing. Guiding was perfect. The rosette is extremely faint around the six "ladder" stars of the cluster. Too much skyglow. Taken piggyback, f/7 560mm refractor, 60 min, too long! |
