DemonBlade Games produces a really nifty TTG called "ShockForce", which is set in a post-apocalyptic America of the future. Normally, I don't bother with "official" armies or background fluff, but ShockForce has something that most other games are sorely missing....
A sense of humor. A dark sense of humor, to be sure, but there's certainly nothing wrong with that. There are a number of factions, all entertaining in their own way, but my favorite is the Mutants -- simply because of the staggering variety of figures they allow you to field. This page, and the ones that will eventually follow, shows some of the figures that make up my Mutant army, the "Hellhounds".
The King and the Queen of The Hellhounds. The King is, of course, "The King" -- a DemonBlade figure that has just been made openly available. Previously, he could only be obtained by playing in a DBG tournament. It doesn't scan all that well, but his cuffs and collar have been coated with embossing powder, for a nice glittery effect. The Queen is a Ral Partha "Werewolf" figure, and I believe that she is now OOP.
The Dominator and Dominatrix, respectively. The Dominator was originally firing a machine pistol, identical to the one on his hip, but I replaced this with a somewhat more intimidating weapon -- A Games Workshop Ork weapon of some type. The Dominatrix is unchanged.
A pair of Metal Magic "Phagons", from the now defunct "Spacelords" line. I use these guys to supplement my Goathead Horde. They've been glued to slotta-bases, and I sculpted some crude looking backpacks out of milliput to cover the high-tech jetpacks that they were wearing, but they are otherwise unmodified. The weapons look a bit strange -- almost organic in appearance -- but I'm willing to live with this.
Demonblade figures, from the Goathead Horde back. I'm very happy with the way that these two came out; they are some of my favorite painted figures.
Two Games Workshop figures. The one on the left is an old Imperial Guardsman (and the leader of my Goat unit), while the one on the right is a Blood Bowl figure who has had a DemonBlade gun added on. The Blood Bowl figure clearly shows my incredibly effective "evil looking eyes without pupils" technique, which I invented because I am extremely lazy and have a hard time painting pupils. It actually does look pretty good, though. Shows up nicely on the tabletop.
Two DemonBlade mutants. Pretty straightforward; I just painted them up as-is. The spotted guy came out particularly well, I think.
A modified "Essenem" cavalry rider, mounted on a Harlequin dinosaur.
