IN RECOGNITION OF GRIEF RECOVERY
~Shock~Grief~Recovery
People across the world have been in unbelievable pain, anger and grief
since
September 11, 2001
Many of us have experienced a staggering array of emotions since the
horrific morning of September 11.
Rage. Anguish. Uncertainty. Emptiness. Helplessness.
Feelings like these are a profound testament that grief is a journey, one that will take
us on
tumultuous twists and turns until we eventually see our way to the end.
Crying is a must. Crying and raging is part of the healing process. It is
necessary.
But there is hope which springs eternal in the ebb and flow of the tides
of life..
In the words of Hazelden author Alla Renée Bozarth,
"Grief is a passion. We can meet it, endure it, and become quiet victors
through the honest and courageous process of grieving."
Today our world is turned upside down.
I would like to bring a measure of hope and some smiles to all who have suffered
the devastating affects of this most atrocious and heinous crime against humanity.
There is none among us who have not been adversely affected.
The graphic I have designed for this page is a photo of my Grandson Nathan wearing his
Daddy's hat.
His Daddy (who had been active Navy Submariner) is now part of the Naval Reserves.
The photo was taken exactly one year ago in September 2000.
We hadn't lost our smiles yet.
I hesitated and pondered before I made the decision to create this
webpage.
No one can tell another
person how they should or should not feel.
No one knows this better than I do, having lost a child of my own.
I have no illusions that this graphic of the smiling child can fix what hurts
so deeply down inside our souls.
It is merely a token of HOPE for healing tender hearts...
a token to bring a smile to this short moment in time
as your eyes rest upon these graphics.
I HOPE and PRAY
that you may look at the smile on this child's innocent face
and without
GUILT
be able to
SMILE
back at him for a short
WHILE.
Feel free to take the Grief
Recovery graphics with you.
May God grant you and your loved ones the serenity,
courage, and wisdom
to navigate through these difficult times.
